Koenig Posts Pool Record at Eagle Invitational

WASHINGTON Lily Koenig went 56.20 in the women's 100-yard backstroke to set a new Frailey Pool record on Wednesday as the AU swimming and diving teams ended their season in the annual Eagle Invitational.

Koenig's mark smashed the previous record of 57.71, set by AU's Paris Wood in Oct. 2015.

Also Wednesday, Eleanor Felton went 2:08.58 in the women's 200 IM, moving into 15th on the Eagles' all-time top-16 list in the event.

The Eagle Invitational is an end-of-season intrasquad meet that features AU swimmers competing in off-events and at optimal levels of training due to the Patriot League Championships last weekend.

The AU women were ninth at the PL meet, with the men placing seventh to post their best finish since 2013.
