WASHINGTON - Junior Noor Coenen left no question as to why she was selected as the 2019 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year. On Friday, Nov. 8, she led the American University field hockey team to a dominant 5-1 victory over Holy Cross during the Patriot League semifinal at Jacobs Complex. Later in the weekend, Coenen added a goal and an assist as the Eagles came from behind to defeat Lafayette 3-2 and win the Patriot League Championship.

The Naarden, Netherlands, native recorded her third hat trick of the season in the semifinal win. She also bested her previous season-record of 15 goals, scoring 18 so far. This is the second time Coenen, the PL Tournament MVP, has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week.
