@AU_SwimDive Competes in Crosstown Triangular

WASHINGTONScott Callander won the 100-yard butterfly to lead American University finishes Saturday at a triangular swimming and diving event hosted by Georgetown and including George Washington.

No team scores were available late Saturday evening. The Eagles are coming off their tough annual winter training trip last week to Venice, Fla.

EVENT NOTES

• Callander went 51.30 to win the 100-yard butterfly for the Eagles. He also had a sixth in the 200 fly and a seventh in the 100 freestyle.

• The AU men picked up a number of fifth-place individual finishes, including Garrett Sooter (1,000 free) and Liam Riebling (200 fly).

Kyra Manson had the best individual finish for the AU women, placing third in the 100 fly at 58.35. She also had a fifth in the 100 freestyle.

Lily Koenig was fourth in the 100 backstroke at 59.76 and was sixth in the 200 back.

• Fifth-place finishes on the women's side for AU also included Natalie Hamlet (1,000 free) and Alex Brosvik (50 free).

NEXT UP

American competes next Saturday at George Mason in a quadrangular with the host Patriots, Army West Point and Old Dominion.
