LEWISBURG, Pa.– Scott Callander went 51.46 to win the men's 100-yard butterfly to lead American University performances Saturday at a quadrangular swimming and diving meet hosted by Bucknell.
The Eagles posted a win in the dual-meet scoring on the women's side, besting Lafayette 226-83. The AU men came within 145-143 with the Leopards to post their best score in the meet, which also included Navy.
MEET NOTES
• Sophomore transfer Kyra Manson had a strong day for the AU women. She was third in the 100 free (54.07) and moved into 16th all-time at AU with a fourth-place of 58.22 in the 100 fly.
• Lily Koenig (58.57 in 100 back), Alex Brosvik (24.59 in 50 free) and Anna Derrow (217.60 in 3-meter diving) each earned fourth-place finishes.
• Callander edged Liam Pitt of Bucknell by 0.16 seconds in the 100 fly, with Eagle freshman Yannick Bohbot-Dridi placing third. Callander also picked up a fifth in the 200 fly (1:56.15).
• Also for the Eagle men, Liam Riebling earned a pair of third-place finishes, going 1:54.80 in the 200 fly and 1:58.94 in the 200 IM.
• Connor Chidsey had his best day as an AU diver. His 195.85 score on the 1-meter board improved his season-best by 38 points and moved him into 15th on the all-time list. Chidsey also scored 169.70 on the high board, the best by an Eagle this season.

American competes next on Nov. 15 in the first day of the Patriot Invitational at George Mason. The three-day event continues through Nov. 17.
