Eagles Fall to Princeton in Non-Conference Contest

PRINCETON, N.J. – In its third straight game on the road, the American University field hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision to Princeton Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles fall to 5-3 on the season with the loss, while the Tigers improved to 2-3.

Princeton owned a 2-0 advantage after one half and extended its lead to 4-0 with less than 25 minutes remaining in the second half.

American's scoring drought ended when sophomore Sophia Crawshay put the Eagles on the board with 15:24 on the clock. However, the Tigers added another score in the final minute of action to pick up the four-goal victory.

The Eagles return home next weekend, Sept. 26-27, for a pair of contests. American hosts Holy Cross in league action, while playing Temple on Sunday.
