AU Welcomes Holy Cross to Jacobs Field for PL Showdown

WASHINGTON – Fresh off a non-conference win over Mount St. Mary's, the American University lacrosse team returns to Patriot League play on Saturday, March 14, as it hosts Holy Cross in a 1 p.m. contest at Jacobs Field.

The Eagles, who own a 2-5 overall record and 0-1 mark in the Patriot League this season, snapped a five-game losing streak on Wednesday, rolling to a 12-4 victory over visiting Mount St. Mary's.

Junior Jessica Wojciechowski, who tallied a hat trick in the first seven minutes of the contest, finished with a team-high four goals for the Eagles, who had seven different goal scorers. Meanwhile, sophomore Sarah Bootman also recorded four points for AU, finishing with a goal and a team-leading three assists.

For the season, sophomore Madison Hoon leads the Eagles with 17 total points, including a team-high 16 goals, while Wojciechowski has added 15 goals and an assist.

Holy Cross enters the weekend with a 1-6 overall record and 1-0 mark in Patriot League play. The Crusaders, whose lone win this season was a 12-11 triple-overtime victory at Colgate, are coming off an 11-10 loss at Brown.

Laura Ryan leads the offense for Holy Cross with 14 goals and four assists on the season, while Kaitlin Concilio has added 10 goals and four assists.
