Lacrosse Falls to Loyola Maryland 16-5

WASHINGTON - The American University lacrosse team fell behind Loyola Maryland early on and couldn't find a way back into the game, losing 16-5 on Wednesday afternoon at the Jacobs Complex. 

Notable How it Happened
  • The Greyhounds controlled the first half, scoring 11 goals and shutting out AU. 
  • The Eagles matched Loyola's five second half goals with five of their own. 
  • Murdoch got the scoring started, finishing off a quality feed from Adria Kotzian
  • Byrnes found the back of the net on a free position chance, and then Kelaher found Kotzian in the middle of the eight-meter for AU's third goal. 
  • Kolton netted her second goal of the year on a free position try, then Murdoch added her second of the day.

  • The Eagles will hit the road on Saturday, March 28 to face BU. First draw is set for noon.
