AU Lacrosse Faces Mount St. Mary's in Non-Conference Action

WASHINGTON – The American University lacrosse team returns home on Wednesday, March 11, for a non-conference contest versus Mount St. Mary's. First draw is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Jacobs Field.

The Eagles enter Wednesday's contest with a 1-5 overall record on the season after dropping their Patriot League opener, 13-5, to Boston University on Saturday.

Team captain Terese Buechli scored two goals to lead AU's offense against the Terriers, while Jessica Wojciechowski, Jordan Harrington and Jamie Silverman each contributed a goal.

For the season, sophomore Madison Hoon leads the Eagles with 15 points, including a team-high 14 goals, while Wojciechowski has added 11 goals and an assist. In addition, junior Olivia Mangan has registered five goals and a team-best eight assists, ranking third in the Patriot League in assists per game (1.33).

Mount St. Mary's has a 1-3 record on the season after dropping a 12-11 overtime contest to Furman on Saturday. Nicole Lantuh and Kelly Maloney each tallied a hat trick to lead the Mountaineers, who battled back from a six-goal deficit to force the extra period.

For the season, Maloney leads the Mount with 12 goals in four games and ranks third in the Northeast Conference with 3.0 goals per game.
