American Faces Saint Joseph's in Non-Conference Action

WASHINGTON – The American University lacrosse team is back on the road for a non-conference match-up versus Saint Joseph's on Wednesday, Feb. 18. The game, which was originally scheduled for a 7 p.m. draw, will begin at 4 p.m. at Sweeney Field.

The Eagles currently hold a 1-0 record after defeating Wagner, 16-12, in their season opener on Saturday. After ending the first half tied at 9-9, AU outscored the Seahawks, 7-3, in the second half to cruise to the win.

Sophomore midfielder Madison Hoon scored a career-high five goals and junior attacker Jessica Wojciechowski added four goals to lead the Eagles, while junior Olivia Mangan added two goals and four assists.

Saint Joseph's brings an 0-1 record into Wednesday's game after dropping a 12-11 decision to Temple in overtime on Saturday.

Against the Owls, Maggie Egan and Kelly Phelan, who each recorded a hat trick, led the Hawks' offense. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Nora McGeever tallied 12 saves for Saint Joseph's.
