American University's early season swimming action continues on Friday and Saturday in a two-day, two-city meet with Loyola Maryland.
The Eagles travel to Baltimore on Friday for a 5 p.m. session at Loyola that will include six events. Swimmers will compete in 50-yard stroke events, the 500 free and the 200 IM.
The teams return to the Reeves Aquatics Center on Saturday for sessions at noon and 5 p.m.
For most AU swimmers, this will be their first opportunity to swim individual events, as the Eagles opened the season with the Potomac Relays Invitational, where all events were in relay style.
American opened its 2015-16 season with a third-place finish on the women's side and a fourth for the men at the Potomac Relays Invitational.
Featured on Saturday's early schedule will be the 100-yard backstrokes.
On the women's side, AU could have
Paris Wood,
Caylee Watson and
Julianna Cavano, each of whom ended the 2015 season among the top three in school history in that event. Junior
Kilian Korth is among the top 16 all-time in both backstroke events for the AU men.
The evening session will include the 100 freestyle, long stroke events (200 back, 200 breast, 200 fly) and the meet will conclude with the 1,650 freestyle.
