Kinnari Badger and
Brianna Belo set school records in their American University debuts and
Brendan Johnson earned an individual victory Saturday as the Eagle track teams competed at the Father Diamond Invitational and at Navy.
Badger, a junior transfer from Western Carolina, ran 26.86 in the women's 200-meter dash at the Father Diamond meet at George Mason. Her mark snapped AU's previous school record of 26.94 set in 2009 by Meg Henry.
Also in that event,
Anisa Santiago went 27.88 to move into sixth on AU's all-time list.
Belo, a freshman from Philadelphia making her collegiate debut, placed third in the women's 400 in 1:00.22. Her mark eclipsed the 1:00.96 of Tina Thomas in 2009.
Anike Oladeji ran 1:04.14 to move into sixth on AU's list indoors in the 400.
Kelseagh Budris placed seventh in the women's 1,000, with her mark of 3:07.41 less than a second off her previous collegiate best.
Corina Velazco also got a top-10 finish for the Eagles with a seventh in the mile at 5:12.75.
Competing in a five-team meet at Navy, Johnson won the men's 3,000-meter run in 8:25.45. He just missed the IC4A-qualifying mark of 8:25 with his run.
Tom Woermer placed fifth in the 3,000 for the Eagles in a season-best 8:43.81.

James Belfatto was third in the mile at 4:21.94, with teammate
Peter Rowe in fourth in 4:24.72.
Freshman
Liam Purdy also earned a fourth for the Eagles, going 2:31.98 in the men's 1,000.
American competes again next weekend in Landover, Md., at the Terrapin Indoor Invitational.
