The American University men's and women's indoor track and field teams will travel to New York City this weekend to compete in the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. Events will begin on Friday, February 3 at 10:25 a.m. and run through Saturday, February 4.
The Eagles are coming off a strong showing at the George Mason Patriot Games last weekend. American had eight runners finish in the top-10 of their events as Josh Olsen led the men's team with an IC4A qualifying time and first place finish in the mile. Carly Birkhold led the women's team with her first place finish in the 3,000 meter run.
American will look to match last season's strong showing at the event when Octavia Rinehardt set a program record in the 5,000 meter run and posted an ECAC qualifying time. Olsen also posted a top time for the Eagles with an IC4A qualifying time in the 3,000 meter run and Zach Wright placed third in the high jump eastern.
