The American University swimming and diving team hosted Bucknell and Navy in a pair of dual meets on Saturday afternoon. Bobby Ballance led the Eagles, capturing the 100 back title.
Ballance's victory in the 100 back came in a time of 52.04. He also recorded a pair of fourth-place results in the 200 back (1:55.03) and 200 IM (1:58.34). Matt Wurm also had a strong day for the men's team, registered a runner-up finish in the 200 back in a time of 1:53.68. He also placed third in the 200 free with a time of 1:42.94 and in the 500 free in 4:43.11.
Dylan Rasnick also recorded a trio of top-finishes. His best result came in the 200 IM, placing third with a time of 1:57.83. He also placed fourth in the 1000 free in 9:48.67 and fifth in the 500 free with a time of 4:47.03. Harrison Volaski and Tyler Pham also registered top-five results. Volaski placed fourth in the 100 back in 53.21 and Pham finished fifth in the 100 fly in 52.85.
American recorded fourth and fifth place finishes in the 200 free relay. The team of Dylan Hall, Michael Allada, Giorgio Zenere and Michael Kell recorded a time of 1:33.32 followed by the team of Ryan Saunders, Charlie Taffet, Daniel Francis and Ross Honig in 1:34.93.
The women's team was led by Melissa Parker who recorded a pair of third-place finishes in the diving portion of the meet. She posted a score of 227.35 in the one-meter dive with a final mark of 220.95 in the three-meter dive.
The 200 free relay team of Olivia Lasche, Lesia Olesnyckyj, Ellie Liang and Abby Weingarten finished fourth in 1:48.47.
Both teams finished 0-2 on the day. The men's team fell to Navy (208-81) and Bucknell (196-98) with the women's team falling to Navy (220-61) and Bucknell (252-36).
American will return to action for the George Mason Invitational from November 15-17 in Fairfax, Va.
