The American University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic this weekend where the Eagles posted one victory and two all-time top 10 times.
Octavia Rinehardt placed fourth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 16:34.26, good for third place on American's all-time top 10 list. Rinehardt's time was nearly 45 seconds faster than her previous personal best of 17:13.58 and eclipsed the ECAC qualifying standard in the event.
Alexandra Tyburski also posted an all-time top 10 time as she finished 13th in her section of the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:43.19, the 10th-fastest time in program annals. Zach Wright, meanwhile, earned American's lone victory of the weekend, tying for first place in the high jump with a final height of 1.89 meters.
In the men's 5,000 meter run, Josh Olsen led the Eagles with an IC4A qualifying time of 14:31.03 to take seventh place. He was joined in the event by Mark Allen who took 11th in 14:36.46 and Ryan Williams who placed 14th in 14:38.56.
American will return to the track April 28-30 when the team travels to Philadelphia, Pa. for the Penn Relays.
