The American University lacrosse team will go for its second straight win when Virginia Tech visits Jacobs Field Wednesday, March 9 at 3:00 p.m.

The Eagles (2-3) are coming off a 13-7 win at Old Dominion on Saturday, the team's second win over the Monarchs in as many years. Bernadette Maher led American with her second straight hat trick and third of the year, while Kimberly Collins, Samantha Marshall, Eliza Morgan and Emily Stankiewicz each scored two goals in the win. Kaska Komosinski, meanwhile, earned her second victory of the year in goal, recording 10 saves while allowing just five goals in 55:34.

Collins has recorded a team-high 12 points on the year, tallying nine goals with three assists. Maher leads the Eagles with 11 goals while Marshall and Chiara Speziale have also netted nine apiece. Stankiewicz has led the defensive efforts from her midfield position, ranking first on the team in draw controls (12), ground balls (12) and caused turnovers (10), with Komosinski recording a 12.00 goals against average.

Virginia Tech (5-1) is led by a quartet of double-digit goal scorers. Allie Emala has notched 15 goals and seven assists for a team-high 22 points while Morgan Widlake has scored 19 goals with two assists for 21 points. Jessica Nonn boasts 16 goals and five assists on the year with Julia Heaps adding 13 scores and seven helpers. Alex Gale owns a 4-1 record in goal with a 9.04 goals against average.
