Junior Dory
Isaacs won the 100 breast title at the 2010 ECAC
Swimming and Diving Championships, which took place over the
weekend at the University of Pittsburgh.
Isaacs was the top preliminary qualifier out of 36 swimmers,
finishing in 1:02.72, nearly two seconds ahead of the second place
qualifier. She then backed up that performance with a 1:02.15 swim
in the final, defeating runner-up Laura Gorinski from Navy by more
than a full second. Isaacs swim set a new ECAC record, edging
Central Connecticut State's Jamie Crowley's 1:02.61 time from 2006.
Isaacs' 100 breast swim shaved nearly a tenth of a second off
her time from last week's Patriot League Championships, where she
placed second with a time of 1:02.23.
The San Jose, Calif., native was the 2009 Patriot League
champion in the 100 breast, finishing in 1:01.23, which is also the
school-record in the event.
Isaacs was the only Eagle to compete at the meet. The ECAC is
regional conference comprised of 300 Division I, II and III
schools. Schools included in the ECAC stretch from Maine to North
Carolina, and as far west as Illinois.
