The No. 7 American University field hockey team will return to

2-1 to Louisville on September 5. The 12-match winning streak was
the Eagles' third longest under Head Coach Steve Jennings.
Senior forward Christine
Fingerhuth leads American with a career-high 14 goals
and has been named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week in
each of the past four weeks. She ranks seventh in program history
with 108 career points, and her 48 career goals is good for fifth
all-time. Five other Eagles have recorded at least five goals this
season, including Lotte
van de Mierop (7), Gina
Hofmann (6), Shelly
Montgomery (6), Melissa
Casale (5) and Anne van
Erp (5). Kirstin
Gebhart, Hofmann and Natalie
Ellenberger lead the team with 11, 10 and nine
assists, respectively.
Weitzman has been outstanding in the cage this season. She is
currently ranked fourth in the nation with a 0.96 goals against
average, sports a .737 save percentage and has notched four
shutouts.
Bucknell (6-9, 2-1) has lost three of its last four, including
its most recent match up against No. 11 Penn State. The Bison are
led by senior Kelly Bruvik, who has a team-high eight goals and 20
points on the year. Three other student-athletes have notched at
least 10 points this season, including Morgan Kauffman (14), Rachel
Misko (11) and Tayler Siegrist (10). Sarah Zargarpour has recorded

Since 2001, American holds a 10-1 series advantage and has
outscored the Bison 38-10. Bucknell has not defeated the Eagles
since its 3-2 victory on October 27, 2001.
At halftime of Saturday's match, American will celebrate the
fifth anniversary of the 2005 season, when American posted a 20-2
overall record and made the program's second appearance in the NCAA
Elite Eight.
