The American University men's basketball team will return to

on BIG EAST foe DePaul. Tipoff from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont,
Ill., is set for 8:30 p.m. American is 0-3 all-time against the

Chicago.
American will enter play on Wednesday coming off a 10 day break
for fall final exams. The Eagles last played on December 5 against
then No. 16/14 Georgetown in the Verizon Center, a game which the
Hoyas won, 73-46. Junior Nick
Hendra led all scorers in the contest with 14 points
while grabbing nine rebounds. Sophomore Riley
Grafft and freshman Daniel
Munoz added eight points apiece but it was not enough
as the Hoyas shot 50.0 percent from the floor to take the
victory.
Sophomore Stephen
Lumpkins leads the Eagles both offensively and
defensively, averaging 12.6 ppg, 8.0 rpg and 1.8 bpg. The forward
has led the team in scoring in five of nine games this season and
in rebounding seven times. Grafft has chipped in 9.8 ppg and 5.7
rpg while Hendra has added 7.8 ppg and 5.1 rpg.
Junior Vlad
Moldoveanu will make his first appearance as an Eagle
on Wednesday and is expected to provide an immediate impact both on
the offensive and defensive ends of the court. The 6'9" forward led
the Romanian national team in both scoring and rebounding this
summer during the 2009 FIBA EuroBasket Qualifying Tournament,
averaging 18.3 ppg and 8.5 rpg. Moldoveanu transferred to American
midway through the 2008-09 season from George Mason and has been
