The American University men's basketball team will take on
Florida Atlantic on Saturday, November 21, in the third game of its
current five-game homestand. Tipoff from Bender Arena is slated for
12:00 p.m. The first 2,000 fans in attendance on Saturday will
receive a free American men's basketball schedule magnet
courtesy of Corporate Partner RCN. The Eagles are 1-0 all-time
against Florida Atlantic, having defeated the Owls 80-72 in Bender
Arena on Dec. 18, 1990.
American lost to Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday night, 73-62,
despite a double-double performance by sophomore forward Stephen
Lumpkins. Lumpkins posted a career-high 17 points and career-best
12 rebounds, recording the first double-double of his career. He
was complimented by classmate Riley Grafft who also scored a
career-high 17 points and freshman Mike Bersch who put up 14 points
off the bench.
American University Presents: Eye on the Eagles returns for a
second season on Comcast SportsNet. Eye on the Eagles is a monthly
30-minute television show which takes an in-depth look at American
University Athletics. This season's first episode will air on
Sunday, November 29, at 10 a.m. and the second will air on Sunday,
December 27, at 10 a.m. Eye on the Eagles is also available by
accessing video-on-demand on Comcast, Verizon and Cox cable
systems.
