Three members of the American University men's indoor track team competed the first day of the New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Friday at the New Balance Track and Field Center. Sophomore Dan King competed in the 500 meter dash for AU while freshmen Nick Ryan and Colin Eustis ran in the 3000 meter run.
King was the first Eagle to run on Friday, competing in the 500 meter run. King, already the owner of the fourth fastest 500 meter dash time in AU history, improved upon his personal best by eight-tenths of a second with a time of 1:06.93, the third best in program history. King placed 21st overall in the event.
Ryan and Eustis immediately followed King in the 3000 meter run. Eustis ran the course in 8:30.28 while Ryan completed it in 8:37.02 for finishes of 23rd and 35th, respectively.
Tomorrow, Feb. 9, Cathleen Ford and Kate Lilley will take the track for the AU women while Steve Hallinan, Brian McCabe and Conor Sullivan compete for th men in day two of the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.
