Men's Basketball Dropped by Ohio, 81-50

ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University hit 12 three-pointers and shot 46 percent from three-point range to help defeat the American University men's basketball team, 81-50.

The Bobcats hit nine treys in 20 attempts in the opening period to open up a 42-26 lead at the break.

Ohio's attack was relentless in the second stanza, hitting 50 percent of its attempts to widen the margin.

The Eagles were led by Brayden Billbe (Mercer Island, Wash./Mercer Island) and Andre Ingram (Richmond, Va./Highland Springs), who had 10 points a piece.

Four players scored in double-digits for the hosts, led by Sonny Troutman, who had 18 points.

Ohio improves to 2-0 on the season, while American falls to 0-5. The Eagles end a six-game road trip to begin the season with a matchup against George Mason University in the BB&T Classic on Monday, Dec. 5. Tune in to 1260 AM or AUEagles.com to listen to the game, which starts at 6:30 p.m.
