CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The AU field hockey team had
its ten-game winning streak broken as they were defeated by Boston
University 4-2. Freshman Heidi Hershberger (Davis, Calif./Davis)
and Kaitlin DeTroia (North Caldwell, N.J./West Essex Regional)
scored the only goals for the Eagles. The game began as the
Terriers were able to pull out to an earlylead as Celeste Hubbard
scored for BU in he first five minutes off a rebound from
goalkeeper Laura Miller (Pennsburg, Pa./Quakertown). Miller totaled
five saves during the game. After the first half came to a close,
the Eagles were able to even the score as Hershberger put the ball
in the cage, after receiving the ball from teammate Camila Infante
(Santiago, Chile/Santiago College). The Eagles were able to take
the lead five minutes into the second half with a breakaway goal by
DeTroia (38.11). This was the only goal the Eagles would have
during the second half. The Terriers answered DeTroia's goal by
putting the ball in the cage three times in three minutes. The
Terrier offense had four goals and 14 shots against the Eagles,
while the B.U. defense allowed the Eagles just two goals on nine
shots. The Eagles are now 11-2 overall and 6-0 in the Patriot
