BALTIMORE, Md. - Senior forward Melissa Snyder
(Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) was on fire today, as she led
the Eagles to a 5-0 victory against Lehigh. Snyder scored four of
the five goals today, helping the Eagles become 10-1 overall, and
3-0 in the Patriot League. The Eagles dominated the first half of
the game, out shooting Lehigh 16-1. The first goal of the game came
from freshman Camila Infante (Santiago, Chile/Santiago College) at
21:47. After the goal, the Eagles continued to play an extremely
offensive game, taking nine penalty corners in the first half
alone. The story of the second half of the game was Snyder
(Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard), who scored all four goals for
the Eagles in the final 35 minutes of action. Snyder started her
scoring streak by knocking the ball into the cage at 48:53. Her
second goal came less than two minutes later when she again put it
past the Mountain Hawk goalkeeper (50:22). On this goal Infante
picked up the assist. As the Eagles pushed the ball out for their
18th penalty corner of the game, Snyder was able to gain control of
the ball, and send it to the back of the cage for her third goal of
the game at 56:10. With less than two minutes left in the contest,
Snyder was able to score again off a corner. The assist was from
from sophomore Maureen Daniel (Clifton, Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa).
Snyder now leads the team with nine goals this season. The Eagles
will next take on Patriot League rival Holy Cross on Saturday,
