WASHINGTON – The first home game in Patriot League play for American University women's soccer has the Eagles hosting Lafayette at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26. AU is also celebrating Alumni Day, with a couple dozen former Eagles set to return and be recognized at halftime.

Parking on Campus

• Parking on campus is actively monitored seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Fans can buy a season-long parking pass for the Bender Arena Sports Center Garage (through Nov. 22) through the Athletics Ticketing website HERE.
• Parking is available on a per-event basis.
  • Event Parking: $10 per contest for games held after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends (available through the PayByPhone app in any garage using code (211950).
  • Hourly Parking: Standard hourly garage rates apply from 8 am-10 pm in the Katzen Arts Center and School of International Service garages.

Concessions Now Available

• Fans can now head over to the concessions stand inside the newly-completed Meltzer Center for food, snacks, and Pepsi beverages.
• Fans 21+ and over can purchase alcohol on the second floor at the Meltzer Terrace.

What to Know About American

• AU is under the direction of first-year head coach Phil Casella who previously spent nine years at Wagner College, leading the Seahawks to the NEC Championship in 2025.
• AU's co-captains are seniors Bella Miller (forward) and Bella Vozar (defender). The two are part of a group of six seniors on the 2026 team.
• The Eagles have 10 freshmen on a roster of 29. Freshman Riley Molbury has played in eight of nine games, averaging a PL-best 7.0 saves per contest, while Piper Garcia has started in seven of nine games and scored a goal against William & Mary.
• AU has two ties but no wins through its first nine games, most recently falling 3-0 at Army in the Patriot League opener.
• Seniors Lauren Sanders and Bella Miller have both scored penalty kick goals for AU (two for Sanders), while Mia De Villegas-Decker scored the Eagles' goal at Richmond, Jenna Etienne-Valtrin scored at GW, and Garcia scored vs. W&M.
• Molbury totaled a season-high 12 saves in AU's last home game against William & Mary after making 10 saves at home against Elon. Her save percentage of .767 ranks fourth among all PL goalkeepers.

What to Know About Lafayette

• Lafayette comes into Saturday's game with an overall record of 2-3-4 after winning its Patriot League opener 2-1 at Colgate last weekend.
• The Leopards have a pair of 2-0 victories (Colgate and Wagner), and have not lost a game by more than two goals. They tied Buffalo 0-0, La Salle 2-2, St. Joseph's 1-1, and Iona 0-0.
• Mick Statham is in his 21st year as head coach and won his 100th game near the end of the 2025 season.
• Senior Nadia Zaffanella leads the Leopards with three goals and one assist this season for seven total points. Freshman Lily Castle has scored twice, and sophomore Calleigh Elder has two assists to lead the team.
• Senior Catherine Apker has played every minute in goal this season for Lafayette, with 50 saves to 10 goals allowed.

Series History

• American has a 13-7-5 edge all-time against Lafayette, but the Leopards have won two in a row.
• Lafayette won 2-1 on its home field in 2025, and 3-0 at AU the season before. 
• AU's last win was by a score of 2-0 in Easton in 2023.
