HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The American University men's soccer team fell behind two goals to Hofstra in the first half of Sunday night's match, and the Eagles couldn't find their way back into the contest. The 2-0 loss moves them to 0-1-1 on the year after their first two non-conference games.
How it Happened
- Hofstra got on the board early, capitalizing off a turnover for a transition goal from Bastian Carlman. The striker sped through AU's back line and placed his low shot perfectly off the right post and into the net.Â
- With just under eight minutes left in the first half, the Pride struck again. Ben Schultz delivered a quality ball into the box from the left flank, and Sean Keane was there to head it in from the middle of the box.Â
- The Eagles played a cleaner second half and owned more of the game's possession, but they failed to make a goal scoring connection with just three more shots taken.Â
- Chris Sullivan had the best chance of the match for AU in the 85th minute, firing a shot from outside the box and forcing Milo Risenhoover's most difficult save of the night.Â
