BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following her 15-save performance in American University lacrosse's 14-7 win over Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon,
Brooke Hill has been named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week.Â
Hill was crucial to AU's 14-7 win over Holy Cross on Saturday, making the 15 denials on 22 shots on frame from Holy Cross. Her nine stops in the first half kept AU in front early on, giving AU a 5-4 lead at half time and an opportunity to break the game open after the break. The sophomore keeper stayed sharp as the Eagles poured in nine more goals in the second half, allowing just three shots to get by her and making five saves in a row at one point.Â
Also earning Patriot League recognition for AU are
Reagan Murdoch and
Deirdre Brown. Murdoch received an honorable mention for the Midfielder of the Week award after logging six points on Saturday, scoring five goals and adding an assist. She was on point all afternoon, shooting 50% and putting nine of 10 shots on goal.Â
Brown was given an honorable mention for the Defensive Player of the Week, having caused four turnovers and scooping up a ground ball against the Crusaders. She led a defensive effort that forced Holy Cross to fail on four clear attempts and commit 17 turnovers. Â
