- The Eagles are coming off a one-point loss at Bucknell last Sunday, 22-21. AU won five matches, but two technical falls and a pin gave Bucknell the bonus point advantage.
- Raymond Lopez and Jack Maida scored pins for AU, while JJ Peace, Caleb Campos, and Emmanuel Ulrich all won their matches.
- The sophomore Peace is having a breakout season, leading American in wins with a 21-8 record. He landed at #26 on the latest RPI rankings, and #23 on Wrestlestat this week.
- Lopez now has seven pins to lead the team, bringing his career mark to 24 to tie him with Maximilian Leete. The pair currently share the seventh spot on AU's all-time pins list.
- Leete, Lopez, Maida and Campos have all eclipsed 60 career wins during this season, with Leete leading the way at 69.
- Campos and Leete were AU's two ranked wrestlers in the first NCAA coaches' ranking of the year from Jan. 29. Leete earned the #13 spot at 133 and Campos at took #28 at 184, the highest ranking of both their careers.
- Along with Peace, the redshirt sophomore Ulrich is another young AU wrestler earning recognition. He landed at #27 on the RPI rankings, while also appearing on WrestleStat at #31 after defeating #26 Lucas Lawler. Ulrich holds a 15-13 record.
- Leete at 133 and Caleb Campos at 184 were AU's two ranked wrestlers in the first NCAA coaches' ranking of the year from Jan. 29. Leete landed at 13th and Campos at 28th, the highest ranking of both their careers.
