WASHINGTON - In the thick of EIWA dual season, the American University wrestling team is back at home to face Navy on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles are looking for their second straight win in the Meltzer Center before they get a week of rest ahead of their next dual.
Saturday's match was originally scheduled for Sunday, but was moved due to the incoming inclement weather.

Inside the Series
- AU is 1-5 against Navy all-time, last defeating the Midshipmen 19-18 in the 2019 season.
- Last year's dual in Annapolis was decided by just one decision, with Navy winning 24-21. Raymond Lopez and Gage Owen both won matches for American, including a pin of Brenden Ferretti for Lopez.

What to Know About American
- AU is coming off a two-dual weekend, going 1-1 with a win over LIU on Friday, Jan. 16, and a loss to Army on Sunday, Jan. 18.
- The victory over LIU was a memorable one for the Eagles, highlighting the debut of the Meltzer Center by giving a lively crowd plenty to cheer about. American won eight of 10 bouts and earned bonus points in seven of them, including pins from JJ Peace, Caleb Campos, and Emmanuel Ulrich.
- American put forth a strong performance against Army, falling 22-17 on one day's rest at West Point. The Eagles won five bouts to split the dual, but the home side found bonus points through four technical falls to edge out AU 22-17.
- With two wins last week, Campos now leads American with 18 on the season.
- Wrestling up a weight class at 184 for the first time, the redshirt junior is on pace to have a career year. His 41 dual points already top his 38 from a season ago, made up in large part by his five pins, four major decisions, and one technical fall.
- Campos is ranked #31 on Flo and #22 on Intermat, marking the 13th week in a row he's fallen in the top 33.
- The sophomore Peace is also making strides for AU at 125, already tying his 15-win mark from last year with five duals to go. He earned an impressive decision over Army's Charlie Farmer last Sunday, defeating the defending EIWA runner-up 7-4.
- The graduate #16 Leete and true senior Lopez have shared time at 133, both earning victories last week. The pair of veteran wrestlers have combined for 28 wins, led by 17 for Lopez.
- Up at 285, the redshirt sophomore Ulrich has started every dual and has 15 wins overall.
