WASHINGTON - The American University men's soccer team announced its 2026 spring schedule on Wednesday, featuring five matches against quality opponents from the DMV area and beyond as the Eagles prepare for the fall regular season.
AU opens up the spring on Saturday, Feb. 28 with a matchup against Maryland in College Park. The Terrapins are coming off an 8-0-2 regular season that landed them the number four seed in the NCAA tournament, falling only to eventual champions Washington in the quarterfinals.
After a three-week break, the Eagles return home for the remainder of the spring. They begin the slate against George Mason at Reeves Field on Saturday, March 21, as the Patriots will make the short trip from Fairfax, Virginia, to Washington, D.C. for the first matchup between the two teams since 2022. Mason has established itself as one of the A10's top programs over the last two seasons, winning the regular season title in 2024 and posting a 4-2-2 conference record in 2025.
American hosts Montgomery College for the first time the following week on Saturday, March 28, and welcomes UMBC on April 4. The Raptors emerged as one of the top Junior College programs last year, finishing the season as Region 20 Champions and clinching a berth in the NJCAA Tournament. UMBC, a perennial contender in the American East Conference, is coming off a 6-6-5 showing in 2025.
To close spring play, AU hosts James Madison on March 18th.
