WASHINGTON - Another season is fast approaching for American University men's and women's swimming and diving programs, with the Eagles' first meet slated for September 26. Under fifth-year head coach
Garland Bartlett, AU will start the season with its annual Potomac Relay Invitational on that Friday, which will mark the first of four home meets this coming season.
Home Lineup
- The Potomac Relays will welcome DMV-area teams Georgetown, George Mason and Howard, Mary Washington, and Mount St. Mary's in a relay-only format on Sept. 26.
- Following that, UMBC will visit AU on Friday, Oct. 3, for the Eagles' first home dual meet.
- Two weeks later, the Eagles will host Catholic University in a dual at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.
- Senior Day will be celebrated at the Eagles' final home meet of the season on Friday, Jan. 16 against Mount St. Mary's at 4 p.m.
Road Meets
- AU's first meeting with Patriot League opponents will be on Oct. 11 at Loyola Maryland in a tri-meet with Lehigh.
- The next dual has the Eagles heading down the road to Georgetown on Oct. 17, and American will make the trip to local rival Howard for a dual on Oct. 31.
- Navy will host a quad meet with AU, Bucknell and Lafayette on Saturday, Nov. 8.
- The Patriot Invitational at George Mason will be the first major test to see how the Eagles will swim during the championship this season. That meet is set for Nov. 20-22 in Fairfax, Va.Â
- AU will only travel for one dual meet in the spring semester, heading down to Norfolk, Va., to face Old Dominion on Friday, Jan. 23.
- The Navy Invitational will be the final tune-up, set for Feb. 7.
- The culmination of the season will be the Patriot League Championships, Feb. 18-21, which will show how the Eagles stack up against the rest of the conference.Â
- The team will finish off the season at the ECACÂ Championships from Feb. 27-Mar. 2.
Parking on Campus
- As of August 25, parking on campus is being actively monitored seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Parking is available on a per-event basis in any campus garage after 5 p.m., and standard hourly parking is available in two campus garages at any time.
- Event Parking: $10 per contest for events held after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends (available through the PayByPhone app in any garage using code (211950).
- Hourly Parking:Â Standard hourly garage rates apply from 8 am-10 pm in the Katzen Arts Center and School of International Service garages.
