WASHINGTON - American University basketball fans are invited to celebrate the start of a new season at the annual AU Basketball Tip-Off Dinner, set for Wednesday, Oct. 22 at Maggiano's Little Italy in Chevy Chase, conveniently located above the Friendship Heights Metro station.
This year's event will feature remarks from third-year men's basketball head coach Duane Simpkins and new women's basketball head coach Kelly Killion, as they preview the upcoming season and share insights on their teams' goals and growth.
The evening kicks off with a cocktail reception from 6:30–7:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a lively program. Dan Laing, the Voice of the Eagles, will return as emcee, leading conversations with both head coaches.
Tickets are $100 and include the full evening program. Early registration is encouraged, with the chance to be seated alongside coaches and select student-athletes.
