ROCKVILLE, Md. –– Despite cooler temperatures and early rain forecasted, nearly 100 golfers–sponsors and supporters alike–came together at the Lakewood Country Club for one of American University Athletics' long favored traditions, the annual Eagles Golf Club Classic.

Thanks to the generous support of many sponsors and individual donors, a record total of $77,550 was raised for the Champions Fund to support the student-athlete experience at American University.
 
The annual event raises funds for the nearly 300 student-athletes at American. When the foursomes came in off the course, a late barbecue lunch was served, raffle winners were drawn, and awards were handed out for first, second, and third place finishing teams. The Eagles Club's online silent auction was a success, closing at the end of the day and allowing bids from all AU fans rather than just those able to attend.
