WASHINGTON – After a season away from home, American University women's soccer will return to Reeves Field on Thursday, Aug. 14 to kick off the 2025 campaign against local rival George Washington. The opener marks the Eagles' first game on their renovated home field since the end of the 2023 season, and continues a yearly matchup with the Revolutionaries that has become a fixture on the schedule.

Parking on Campus
- Parking in the Bender Arena garage is permit-only through 5 p.m. on weekdays.
- Visitors can use metered parking available at both the Katzen Arts Center garage (entrance on Mass. Ave.) or the School of International Service garage (entrance on Nebraska Ave.).
- Parking in these lots is available at an hourly rate using the PayByPhone app or the "Pay as You Go" pay stations located at the pedestrian exits.

How to Get to Reeves Field
- Due to ongoing construction of the adjacent Meltzer Center for Athletic Performance, entrance to Reeves Field for early-season home soccer contests will be at the south stairwell.
- From campus parking locations, please use the pedestrian walkway alongside the Media Production Center and enter by the President Kennedy speech marker and flagpole plaza.
Reeves Field & Greenberg Track Renovation Complete
- Over the past eight months, Reeves Field and Greenberg Track, the home of American University's men's and women's soccer and cross country/track programs, underwent a $1.5 million renovation.
- With a brand-new, bermudagrass surface, state-of-the-art irrigation and drainage systems, along with a new scoreboard, Reeves Field will now cement itself as one of the premier soccer facilities in the Washington, D.C., area. Greenberg Track has a new, high-caliber track surface installed to support the training of AU's varsity running student-athletes and benefit the entire university community.

What to Know About American
- After a full season away from their home field, the Eagles will return in style with plenty of exciting action on the newly renovated Reeves Field.
- The Eagles played two preseason scrimmages, falling in a close match against Georgetown, 2-1, and then shutting out Delaware State 3-0. Freshmen Jayden Fisher and Logan Rivers both scored in those games, as did senior Morissa Lambert and sophomore Maddie Hurowitz.
- In her fifth season at the helm in 2024, head coach Marsha Harper led the Eagles to a 6-6-3 overall record—the program's most victories since 2019.
- American went 4-1-1 in non-conference action last season, marking the best record since 1986. That start included a string of three straight victories, including a pair of 2-0 shutouts.
- Team MVP honors went to sophomore defender Bella Vozar, who scored two goals and started in all 15 games.
- Senior defender Eliza Fisher and senior midfielder Avery Klingensmith both started in all of the Eagles' games in 2024, while grad student Jennifer McGuire and senior Phoebe Merrigan made 13 starts each.
- American earned an impressive total of nine Patriot League Weekly Awards last year, led by freshman Addison Roemer who was named Goalkeeper of the Week twice and Rookie of the Week once. Roemer started in all 14 games played, making 39 saves and finishing with a record of 6-4-2.
What to Know About George Washington
- George Washington finished the 2024 season at 13th in the Atlantic 10. GW capped off its season with a 2-0 loss to Saint Joseph's.
- The Revolutionaries return senior forward Isabel Kelly, who led the team with four goals and eight points last season. She also led the team in shots on goal with 13.
- Kate McGrath, returning for her junior season in 2025, led the team in assists last season with three.
- George Washington graduated two of its highest goal-scorers from last season: grad student Lauren Prentice and senior Alicia Window.
- The Revolutionaries are welcoming an incoming class of five this season.
