WASHINGTON – American University Director of Athletics and Recreation JM Caparro has announced the hiring of Nicole Feliz as the new Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities & Operations.

Feliz brings a wealth of experience in facility management, event operations, and leadership in collegiate athletics. She most recently served as Assistant Athletics Director for Events, Facilities & Operations at nearby George Washington University, where she oversaw daily operations for multiple athletic venues, managed full-time staff, and led coordination on capital improvement projects.

"Nicole stood out for her ability to manage complex operations while building relationships across departments," said Caparro. "She has a track record of excellence in facility and event operations, and we're excited to welcome her to AU."

Prior to her most recent role, Feliz held various leadership positions within GW Athletics, where she played a key role in managing daily logistics for all varsity programs, supervising staff, and coordinating high-level events and rentals. She has also contributed to national and professional sporting events including the 2024 Copa América and has experience with the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, and 76ers.

A native Spanish and English speaker, Feliz earned her bachelor's degree from Temple University in 2020 and her master's in sport management from George Washington in 2025.
