Swim & Dive Programs Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Status for the 61st Straight Semester

WASHINGTON - For the 61st semester in a row, both the men's and women's swimming & diving programs at American University have been honored as College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America teams. It has now been nearly 26 full years in which both teams have met the qualifications to be honored.

The CSCAA announced the selection of 763 teams from 432 institutions for the Scholar All-America Team for the spring 2025 semester. These teams, comprising 18,459 student-athletes, were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements. To earn this prestigious recognition, teams were required to achieve a grade point average (GPA) above 3.0 during the Spring 2025 semester. 

On the women's side, American achieved an impressive GPA of 3.79 to rank in a tie for 13th among all teams in Division I. The men's team posted a fall GPA of 3.50, and led the department for top GPA for a men's team this spring.

Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA, praised the honorees, "These teams exemplify what it means to be true student-athletes. Their dedication to academic excellence, alongside their athletic commitments, is both impressive and inspiring. The CSCAA is proud to recognize and celebrate their hard work and achievement."
