Jarrell and White Earn CSC At-Large Academic All-District Honors

WASHINGTON – American University wrestling seniors Will Jarrell and Lucas White were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team, announced on Tuesday.

Both Jarrell and White are three-time NWCA Scholar All-Americans and EIWA Academic Achievement Award winners.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District or Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and have significant athletic credentials. First-year student-athletes are not eligible for Academic All-District or Academic All-America distinction. The at-large division consists of men's and women's fencing, field hockey, men's and women's golf, gymnastics, and men's and women's lacrosse and wrestling.

Jarrell earned his master's in political science, graduating with a 3.66 GPA. The 285-pounder put together a standout final season, going 24-12 to tie for the second most wins on the team. A team captain for the third season in row, Jarrell earned the Brian Sulmonetti Memorial Exemplary Teammate Award at the team's year-end banquet.

White graduated with a 3.72 GPA as a data science major, and closed out his wrestling career as AU's most frequent starter at 184. He logged 21 dual points and represented the Eagles at the EIWA Championships. At American's annual SASP Awards, White won the College of Arts and Sciences Award, and was named the Top Male Senior Student-Athlete for having the highest GPA.
