Sophia Nagy served up an incredible seven aces.
Notable
- Nagy's seven aces are the most in a three-set match in the Patriot League so far this season, and are currently tied for the fifth-most in a three-set match in NCAA Division I.
- Stegeman hit an outstanding .643 while posting her nine kills and also adding three blocks.
- Yilmaz was close behind, hitting .474 with nine kills, five digs and two blocks.
- Senior setter Esma Sipahi added seven digs and three kills to 27 assists, while freshman libero Bella Marrero posted a team-high eight digs.
How it Happened
- The first set was tied 12 times to get the score to 13-13, but from there it was all AU.
- American posted 15 kills to Navy's five, hitting .220 to the Mids' .032. The Eagles used a 4-0 to take a 20-15 lead, and closed strong for a 25-18 victory.
- The Eagles took charge early in the second set with a 7-2 lead and never looked back.
- Nagy served up back-to-back-to-back aces for a 20-9 lead in what became a 7-0 run for American. The Eagles eventually won 25-11 on Stegeman's seventh kill of the match.
- The third set saw the Mids make a run at it to narrow the gap after AU took a 15-10 lead. Navy twice came within a point, the second time at 18-17 before a 5-0 run for the Eagles put it out of reach.
- Thanks to Nagy, AU finished with a 9-2 advantage in ages. The Eagles also finished with a 37-24 lead in kills.

- The Eagles will next face three-time defending PL champ Colgate, heading to Hamilton to take on the Raiders at 6 pm on Friday, Sept. 27.
