Women’s Soccer Welcomes Signing Class of Eight for 2025 Season

WASHINGTON – Eight high school seniors have signed National Letters of Intent to play for head coach Marsha Harper and American University women’s soccer in the fall of 2025. Joining the Eagles next season are Lili Scoby (Tampa, Fla./Shorecrest Prep), Natalia Croce (Gibbstown, N.J./Gloucester County Institute of Technology), Jayden Fisher (Brambleton, Va./Independence), Sanai Banya (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield Secondary), Logan Rivers (Blythewood, S.C./Hammond), Mary DelVecchio (Fairfax Station, Va./Flint Hill), Jenna Etienne-Valtrin (Laurel, Md./Elizabeth Seton), and Addison Zerkle (Ashburn Va./Independence).

We are thrilled to welcome this talented group of young leaders into our program. In the recruitment process, each of them exemplified the underlying characteristics of what we are building here at AU. They are passionate about their crafts, they are determined to add an immediate and lasting impact to their environments, and they are committed to rolling their sleeves up and stopping at no cost to be successful. Natalia Croce

Logan Rivers

Position: Forward

Why AU: “American University is not only in a great location, but is academically challenging with great opportunities in community service and internships. Athletically, American University is also dedicated to building a strong soccer program with talented and passionate players.”

Before AU: ODP South Region Team… SCUFC ECNL Coach’s Award as a junior… Southeast All-Conference Second Team as a sophomore… 2024 Max Preps Team Player of the Year… Led her team in goals, assists, and points, and led her region in goals and points in the 2024 season… Three-time SCISA North/South All-Star… Three-time SCISA All-Region… Two-time Midlands Athlete of the Week Nominee… 2023 All Area Girls Soccer Team.

Lili Scoby

Position: Midfield

Why AU: “I chose AU because I have attended the same small, private school since I was 3, so for me to find something similar with that family feel was super important to me. The moment my mom and I first visited the campus and met the coaches it just felt like another place I could call home.”

Addison Zerkle

Name: Addison Zerkle

Hometown: Ashburn, Va.

Position: Goalkeeper

High School: Independence High School

Club: Northern Virginia Alliance

Why AU: “I chose American because I really like the campus environment and the facilities. I also want to major in communications and eventually be a sports broadcaster, and their resources are very good. Being in DC will hopefully bring up many job opportunities. I also connected really well with Coach Marsha, Coach Katie and Coach Matt, and it was such a positive coaching atmosphere that I knew I wanted to go there.”
