JEFF JONES, MEN'S BASKETBALL HEAD COACH (2000-2013)
Jeff Jones' coaching tenure at American was marked by unparalleled success and transformative leadership. Under his guidance, the Eagles won their first two Patriot League Championships and earned back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2008 and 2009. In his 13 seasons, Jones' teams captured four Patriot League regular-season titles and played in five championship games, a testament to his ability to consistently compete at the highest level. With an overall record of 212-182, Jones became the winningest coach in program history, achieving nine winning seasons and mentoring 22 All-Patriot League selections. Among his standout players, two were named Patriot League Players of the Year—Patrick Doctor in 2002 and Derrick Mercer in 2009—while Andre Ingram and Mercer were recognized as Rookies of the Year. Jones' coaching prowess earned him Patriot League Coach of the Year honors in 2009. His emphasis on academic and personal development saw 60 of his players named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, while 23 of his athletes pursued professional careers.

ETHAN BASSETT, MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING (2000-04)
Recognized for elite accomplishments in each year of his career at American, swimmer and two-time team MVP Ethan Bassett put together a remarkable list of championships and honors as an Eagle. After being named the Colonial Athletic Association's Rookie of the Year in 2001, Bassett went on to earn First Team All-Patriot League honors in each of his three seasons in the league. He earned eight individual conference titles—two each in the 500 free and 200 breast, as well as four in the 400 individual medley. Bassett was also a part of five gold medal-winning relays spanning all three seasons in the Patriot League. In the 800 free relay, Bassett was a part of three conference titles and set a school record that still stands today. He was a four-time NCAA "B" qualifier, and is still on seven career top-10 lists at American. In 2002, Bassett was named the Patriot League's Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and in 2015, he was named to the Patriot League's 25-Year Anniversary Team.

ALEXIS DOBBS, WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (2010-14)
Alexis Dobbs' career was defined by both athletic and academic excellence. A standout on the court, she was twice named to the All-Patriot League First Team, and finished her career holding program records for three-pointers made (222) and games started (117), both of which remain unbroken. Dobbs also ranks in the top 10 in several major statistical categories, including ninth in scoring with 1,288 points, third in assists with 420, and fourth in three-point shooting percentage (.372). Her 69 three-pointers made in the 2011-12 season rank as the second-most in AU history. Off the court, Dobbs was equally impressive, being twice named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earning spots on both the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team and the Academic All-Patriot League Team. As a senior, she received nominations for the prestigious NCAA Woman of the Year and Senior CLASS Award, while also earning the AU President's Award and an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

DANIEL WATERS, WRESTLING (2003-05)
Daniel Waters made history as American University's first-ever All-American in wrestling, achieving an eighth-place finish in the 174-pound weight class at the 2005 NCAA Championships. Over the course of his stellar career, Waters compiled an impressive record of 59-10, including a mark of 32-5 in 2004 and 27-5 in 2005. His 32 wins in 2004 ranked first in the NCAA, a testament to his dominance on the mat. That same year, he earned recognition as the Outstanding Wrestler at the Wilkes Open, captured titles at the West Virginia Open and Keystone Classic, and placed fourth at the prestigious Midlands Championship. In 2005, despite suffering a season-ending knee injury in the previous year's EIWA Championships, Waters returned to place fourth at the EIWA Championships and ranked in the top 15 nationally.
