WEST POINT, N.Y. - For a second consecutive match, the American University volleyball team outlasted Army West Point in four sets. Three players posted double-doubles to lead the way as the Eagles won 25-15, 19-25, 25-23, and 25-23 to improve to 17-4 overall and 7-2 in the Patriot League.

- Stegeman added a season-high 10 blocks to 11 kills for her first double-double of the year.
- It was the ninth double-double for Berisha, who added 16 digs to a match-high 15 kills.
- Senior Esma Sipahi also notched a double-double, her fifth of the year, with 42 assists and 11 digs.
- Five Eagles posted 10 or more digs, led by senior Bridget Javitch with 17. Freshmen Bella Marrero and Zedo Yilmaz tallied 15 digs each.
- Yilmaz served up four aces to lead all players, also posting four kills and four blocks.
- Freshman Elise Sterling had an impressive match with eight kills on 15 attempts with zero errors, hitting .533 while also recording four blocks.
How it Happened
- A back-and-fourth affair in the early going, the first set saw the Eagles pull away with a 7-0 run to turn a 12-10 edge into a 19-10 advantage.
- Berisha registered six of her match-high 15 kills in the opening set.
- Army answered by cruising through the second set, scoring nine of the first 13 points and never looking back. The Eagles got to within four at 23-19, but Army countered with two quick points to secure the set.
- It appeared Army was going to grab control of the match after it built a 12-3 lead in the third. But the Eagles methodically crawled back and knotted the score at 19-19 on a Berisha kill from Sipahi, adding two more points to take a 21-19 lead.
- A block by Sterling and Yilmaz fended off Army to take the third set and build a 2-1 match lead.
- Stegeman had four of her 11 kills in the third set.
- Set four was tight throughout, with no team leading by more than four the entire way.
- American built a slight edge midway through and held serve the rest of the way, sealing the match on an Army attack error.
