Hershey's Late Goal Not Enough for Men's Soccer at Lehigh

  • American added a goal late in the game, as senior Sam Hershey scored his second goal of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • In the 16th minute, junior goalkeeper Matthew Tibbetts was called upon to make his only save of the first half, as he thwarted a dangerous shot from the Mountain Hawks.
  • Just six minutes into the second half, Thomas Robertson broke through for the Mountain Hawks, a shot placed in the top-left corner to give Lehigh a 1-0 lead.
  • Seven minutes later, it was Robertson again, scoring on aa rebound to give Lehigh a 2-0 lead.
  • Lehigh added another thanks to a generous bounce. Yusef Gueye made it 3-0 for the Mountain Hawks in the 71st minute.
  • In the 82nd minute, a beautiful ball from Nunn caused trouble for Lehigh's back line, and Hershey gathered control and chipped it over Lehigh's goalkeeper to get American on the board.
  • On the attack, American created more chances and made the final minutes interesting, but Lehigh's lead was too big to overcome as the Mountain Hawks took the game, 3-1.
