WASHINGTON - The life and work of legendary American University volleyball coach
Barry Goldberg, who recently passed away after battling cancer, was honored in a memorial at Bender Arena on Saturday, April 29. The celebration of Goldberg's life included a
video tribute by 2014 graduate Kylann (Scheidt) Ward and speeches from six special guests and family.
Longtime family friend Steve Kohn served as the master of ceremonies to welcome guests and introduce each speaker. In order, those speaking about Goldberg included American University President Sylvia Burwell, longtime field hockey coach Steve Jennings, 2014 volleyball alumna Megan Rosburg, AVCA Hall of Fame volleyball coach Shelton Collier, brother Jeff Goldberg and son Mitch Goldberg.
