BETHLEHEM, Pa. – American University men's basketball had two athletes selected to the Patriot League Postseason All-League teams, the league announced Monday afternoon. Junior Matt Rogers was selected to the Patriot League All-League Second Team while junior Johnny O'Neil was selected to the Patriot League All-Defensive Team.
 
Rogers is the first Eagle to be named to the All-League Second Team since Sa'eed Nelson in 2018 and is the tenth Eagle in program history to be named a second team selection. The honor also marks his first postseason honor of his career.
 
Averaging 13.7 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game and 1.7 assists per game, Rogers has started in all of American's 29 games this season. He leads the team in scoring while holding a 62.8 field goal percentage, 42.9 three-point percentage and a 69.1 free throw percentage.
 
Earning his third career Patriot League postseason award, O'Neil is just the third American University men's basketball athlete to be named to the league's All-Defensive Team and the first since Stacy Beckton in 2021. O'Neil was named the league's Rookie of the Year in 2021 as well as was named to the league's All-Rookie Team.
 
The junior is averaging 10.8 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game and a league-leading 1.6 blocks per game. This season, he has broken into both American's top-10 career blocks list as well as the season blocks top-10 list. O'Neil has 42 blocks this season, putting him tied for fifth all-time single season blocks and has 87 blocks in his career putting him in tenth all-time career blocks.
 
American finished as the No. 7 seed in the Patriot League and will host No. 10 seed Bucknell for a first round game in the Patriot League Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
