FAIRFAX, Va. - Three school records and numerous top-16 times were achieved by American University men's and women's swimming and diving on day two of the Patriot Invitational. The Eagles got a new school record from 
Caleb Farris in the 100 fly, from 
Mimi Watts in the 100 back, and from the men's 200 medley relay team of Farris, 
Aidan Delehanty, 
Will Deitch and 
Nick Buckley.
Notable Women's Results
	- Watts broke her own recent school record in the 100 backstroke (twice) taking first in the prelims with a time of 54.24 and second in the finals in an even faster time of 53.61. That finals time is good enough to qualify her for the U.S. Open next month, adding another event to her lineup at nationals.
- In the 100 fly, Watts got her first individual win of the finals, dropping her winning prelims time and finishing in 53.05, more than a second and a half in front of the second-place finisher.
- Behind Watts, sophomore Isabel McGovern swam the third-fastest PR in program history with a time of 55.52 to place ninth. The Eagles had two more top-16 times in that event from the prelims as freshman Rebecca Siegel's time of 56.96 ranks her 12th all-time, and junior Amaya Tomma's time of 57.23 ranks in a tie for 14th all-time. 
- To start the night session, Watts teamed up with Tomma, sophomore Grace Netz and freshman Lian Jeong Engle for a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay. Their time of 1:43.67 ranks third all-time in program history.
- Tomma got a PR twice in the 100 back, going 57.01 in the prelims and then 56.66 in the finals, placing ninth and moving up to sixth all-time in program history.
- McGovern swam a PR of 1:52.74 in the prelims of the 200 free which ranks 10th all-time. 
- In the 400 IM prelims, freshman Katie Yoo's time of 4:32.86 was a PR that places her 12th on the all-time list, and she went on to take seventh in the finals.
- After getting a PR in the prelims of the 100 breaststroke to advance to the "A" final, Netz went on to better it in the finals, going 1:05.16 to place seventh with the seventh-best PR at AU. Jeong Engle placed 15th in that event with a PR of 1:06.61 which ranks 16th all-time.
- Sophomore diver Peyton Thurman just barely missed the finals of the 1-meter with her prelims score of 225.60 which placed her ninth. 
Notable Men's Results
	- Farris had a school-record swim in the prelims of the 100 fly, going 48.35 to set the mark and place seventh, which was also his finish in the finals.
- In the first event of the finals, the 200 medley relay, Farris teamed up with Delehanty, Deitch and Buckley for a school-record finish. The foursome bettered their own previous school record by four one-hundredths of a second, going 1:30.03 to place fifth. 
- In the 200 free, freshman Lucas Standridge advanced to the "B" final with a personal-best time of 1:41.98, nearly three seconds off his previous top time. He bettered it again in the finals, taking 12th in a PR of 1:40.77 that ties for 10th all-time at AU.
- Sophomore Colin Clough, Deitch and junior Henry Harrison all made it to the "B" final of the 100 breaststroke, placing 11th, 12th and 16th in the prelims, respectively. For Harrison, it was with a PR of 57.78 that put him on the top 16 list (in 14th) with Clough and Deitch. 
- Delehanty earned a spot in the 100 backstroke "B" final with a season-best time of 51.74.

	- The Eagles will be back at the Patriot Invitational for the third and final day on Saturday. Contested events will include the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, and 400 free relay
