#21 Field Hockey Upsets #17 Delaware in Home Opener

WASHINGTON – The #21 American University field hockey team (2-1) upset #17 Delaware (1-2) on Friday afternoon in its home opener. Junior Imogen Hatton opened the scoring in the 16th minute of the game before the Blue Hens equalized with just 10 minutes left to play. Merel Dupont, a junior from the Netherlands, had a solo goal with three minutes left in regulation that set the teams apart and gave American the win.
