Men's Basketball Signs 6-11 Danish Center Jermaine Ballisager Webb

WASHINGTON - The newest committed recruit for American University men's basketball is one the fans will quickly notice on the court next season, as center Jermaine Ballisager Webb stands at 6-11.

"Jermaine is a very skilled big man who can impact the game in a variety of ways," said Brennan. "His ability to score inside and out, coupled with his passing ability, make him a very versatile offensive threat. He is a perfect fit for our style of play, where his entire skillset will be utilized."

Ballisager Webb comes to the Eagles from Monteverde Academy in Florida, where he won a state championship, but is a native of Aarhus, Denmark.

"Jermaine grew up in Denmark, where he has been a regular member of the U18 Danish National Team," said Brennan. "Additionally, Jermaine comes from a terrific basketball family and has been around the game his entire life, as both his mom, Birna, and dad, Ken, played collegiately in the United States and professionally overseas."

There will now be three Eagles from overseas on the roster, as Ballisager Webb joins current Eagles Mason Whittaker (New Zealand) and Lorenzo Donadio (Italy). Like many international players, Ballisager Webb came to the States early to play at the prep level and was a member of Monteverde Academy's Center for Basketball Development (CBD) Post Grad Gold team.

"In 2021-22, Jermaine played at Montverde, a national powerhouse, where they went 30-5 this past season against some of the best competition in the country," noted Brennan. "His prep school coach, Ben Wisniewski, did a great job preparing him for college, and we expect Jermaine to be as college-ready as possible when he arrives on campus this summer."

Brennan has seen strong play from Ballisager Webb on both ends of the floor, and also believes he'll be a great fit for his character and academic abilities.

"Defensively, Jermaine can challenge shots all over the court, is an aggressive rebounder, and will provide strength and height for our frontcourt," says Brennan. "But most importantly, we are thrilled to add another unselfish person, great student, and hard worker to our team."
