QUICK NOTABLES
- Freshman goalkeeper Matthew Tibbetts made his third start in goal, picking up his second win of the season.
- Zouantcha's goal was his second of the season, Matei's goal was his fourth of the season, and Schweickert's goal was his third of the season.
- Junior Nevin Baer and freshman Toshi Davis assisted on Zouantcha's goal. Baer's assist was his second of the season and Davis' assist was his first career assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Schweickert had American's first shot of the game in the first minute, but his shot was blocked to keep the game scoreless early.
- Delaware had its first shot of the game a few minutes later but the shot was off target.
- The Blue Hen's netted the first goal of the game in the 11th minute to take the early 1-0 lead.
- American had a chance to equalize in the 23rd minute, off a shot by senior Mattias Cooper, but the Blue Hen's goalkeeper made the save to keep his team up 1-0.
- Dilane Zouantcha found the equalizer for American in the 39th minute, off an assist by Baer and Davis.
- Freshman Toshi Davis took one more chance in the first half to give American the lead but his shot was off target as the game headed into halftime even at one.
- In the 59th minute, 13 minutes into the second half, it was Matei who broke the tie off an assist by Jerry Zouantcha and Cooper to give American the 2-1 lead.
- Schweickert added to the Eagles' tally five minutes later in the 64th minute, off an assist by Boyle, to give American the two-goal lead.
- Senior Jack Green and freshman Tim Schliemann had a chance in the 70th minute and 74th minute to add to American's lead but both shots were scoped up by the Blue Hen's goalkeeper.
- The Blue Hen's cut American's lead down to one in the 83rd minute, scoring their second goal of the game, but they couldn't complete the comeback as American came away with the 3-2 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- American held the 17-11 shot advantage and the 7-6 shots on goal advantage. The Eagles held the Blue Hens to just three shots in the first half. Their 17 shots are a team season-high.
- The Eagles also held the 13-4 corner kick advantage, taking eight in the first half and five in the second. Their 13 corner kicks are a team season-high.
- One card to American was handed out in the game.
- Sophomore Nicholas Shirley lead with a team-high four shots while Matei and Dilane Zouantcha each recorded three.
- Tibbetts made four saves and faced a season-high 11 shots.
