HOW IT HAPPENED

  • AU was balanced offensively, with three players finishing with three kills in a 25-15 set win for a 1-0 lead in the match.
  • Uzen turned up the heat in the second set, but the Bison also found their stride and hit .393 to AU's .351.
  • The second set had 11 ties, but five service errors for the Eagles were hard to overcome and Bucknell took the win, 25-22, to tie the match at 1-1.
  • Bridget Javitch set the tone early in the third set with three aces in a 5-0 run. The lead was never in jeopardy as the Eagles knocked down 16 kills and committed zero hitting errors in winning 25-15 for a 2-1 match lead.
  • Uzen added five more kills in the third set, hitting .500, and six other players also contributed offensively.
  • AU nearly matched its impressive third-set effort in the fourth, coming up with 16 kills and only a single error on 33 attempts for a percentage of .455.
  • For a second straight set, the Eagles never trailed in the fourth and got five kills from Putney as they won 25-15.
