WASHINGTON - Adding to a long list of honors earned over the past two weeks, American University volleyball's Olivia Wassner has also been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 18-24. Wassner was named the 2019 Patriot League Tournament MVP after leading the Eagles to a championship with a 3-1 win vs. Army.

Earlier in the week, Wassner was named the Patriot League Setter of the Year and Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year while earning PL First Team selection. She also recently earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors. Wassner is a neuroscience major with a 3.97 GPA.

Wassner put up 25 assists, seven digs, four kills and two aces in the Eagles' PL championship match vs. Army, despite missing close to two full sets with an ankle issue.
