WASHINGTON - After earning her second straight Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor for AU Volleyball, freshman Zeynep Uzen has also been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week on AUEagles.com.

Uzen, a freshman outside hitter, helped lead the Eagles to a 3-0 record last week with wins over Loyola Maryland, Army West Point and previously undefeated Colgate. She averaged 3.55 kills per set and 1.64 digs per set while hitting .238. Her 17 kills in a 3-2 win over Loyola led AU, and she made it her second straight double-double with 11 digs. She also totaled six assists and five blocks for the week.

AU will play its next four matches on the road, starting with a 7 p.m. contest at Bucknell on Friday, Nov. 1.
